less child labor
A key tool in combating child labor is birth registrations. Approximately 230 million children under 5 years of age have never been registered. With out a birth certificate children are often excluded from basic services like social security, health care and education. Putting their development, safety and future in jeopardy. Identification documents are often a requirement for access to education in many countries around the world. Unfortunately children who are not in school are more likely to become victims of child labor. Birth registration records are a vital part in governments developing policies that protect children from exploitation.
